The coast, villages and countryside of the Eastern Algarve and then explore the treasures of this most westerly corner of Europe.
A week of simply stunning fjord scenery!
If you are looking at this one week holiday why not make your stay two weeks by joining us on Ancient Cities of the Adriatic.
Montenegro is a fascinating place. Although it is one of the youngest countries in the world, it is steeped in history stretching back millennia. Having seceded from Serbia after the Balkans conflict in the 90s, prosperity has returned. Our hotel is set in the picturesque fjordside town of Tivat with Kotor old town and it walls not far away. With enticing walking opportunities in the hills behind the town, we are ideally situated for a great holiday.
On our week’s walking programme we will explore the local hills, the Lovćen National Park and the skyline of the Bay of Kotor, southern Europe’s deepest fjord, which offers world class scenery. We walk the zig-zag trail of Vrmac Mountain where we can enjoy views of both Kotor and Tivat’s breathtaking fjords. We will spend time in the labyrinth streets of Kotor’s magnificent old town, a UNESCO world heritage site, walk its ramparts and take a boat trip to further explore the fjords.
We stay in the town of Tivat. The harbour still remains but pleasure yachts now float where the sailing ships once traded. Here we are directly on the coast of Kotor bay and the views from the hotel are simply wonderful and you could easily confuse the town for Monaco.
