This 4 night stay at Hassness Country House follows on from our Navigation & Hill Skills Bronze Award, however this break is open to all. 

Want to go independent hill walking? Do you need to confidence from one of our course instructors to help you with your own independent explorations? This break aims to give you the opportunity to spend three walking days putting the navigation you have learnt (on our Bronze Navigation Course) or the skills you already have, into practical use in the Lake District. The skills you will learn from this break, aim to give you the confidence and competence for independent travel in the hills. 

Our course instructor will cover with you journey planning, the correct equipment and clothing you should have, discussions on how the weather can impact your walk and planning your walk. Our instructor will go through various emergency scenarios and talk about the procedures and protocols which should be followed to stay safe, navigation tips will be provided and also environmental factors to be aware of when out walking. 

Unlike our Bronze and Silver Navigation Courses, there is no assessment element to this course. 

As well as offering this as a 4 night break, you can book a combined tour with us which is a 7 night stay at Hassness Country House - the Bronze Navigation Course takes 3 nights followed by this 4 night Advanced Hill Skills course.
