This holiday is a combination of our one week holiday in Achensee and our one week holiday in Stubai Alps.

Your first week in is spent in Achensee in Austria. Lake Achensee, surrounded by five villages and embraced by the Karwendel and Rofan mountain ranges, stands at the heart of Tyrol, showcasing the natural beauty of the Alps, inviting exploration through scenic walking trails. It is the fjord of the Alps. Experience the splendor of Achensee's turquoise waters, surrounded by the Brandenberg Alps. Immerse yourself in walks with enchanting lake views, exploring three distinct areas: Achenkirch to the north, boasting easier mountains; the Rofan mountains to the east, with accessible peaks; and the Karwendel range to the south and west. Nestled amidst stunning alpine landscapes, Pertisau captivates with its charming traditional buildings, adorned with window boxes, and offers spectacular scenery. The limestone mountain rock ensures a vibrant array of flowers, while guaranteed sightings of marmots and chamois, and occasional glimpses of ibex in the Karwendel, enhance the region's natural allure.

Your second week in the Stubai Valley has everything you could wish from a summer holiday in the Alps. The Stubai Alps, situated in the central eastern Alps, are a part of the largest mountain chain in Eastern Europe. The picturesque valley villages and surrounding hay meadows give way to woodland and high alpine pasture. Here cows roam, the views stretch far away down the valleys, and alpine huts dot the alms. Nestled in the heart of the Stubai Valley, Neustift im Stubaital is the perfect centre for your holiday! There is a wealth of great walks on offer here, opening up the magical world of the high Alps. Walking above Fulpmes, Neustift and Mieders, and at the southern end of the stubai valley, the Eisgratbahn top station (2,900m) gives you access to the Stubai Glacier, whose highest point is 3333m and is visible on many of your walks. You will never exhaust the almost endless selection of trails on offer. Cable cars to the Kreuzjoch above Fulpmes and the Dresdner Hut at the southern end of the valley open up the magical world of the high.

Indulge in the alpine ambiance at mountain cafes, treating yourself to beer and cake on terraces where you can soak up the views!
