Vietnam Adventure

From Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi
Overview

In Vietnam the traveller can now discover a country of beautiful landscapes and smiling friendly people still on the edges of the tourist map. Our journey takes us through the country from Ho Chi Minh City (formerly Saigon) in the south to Hanoi in the north, visiting cities, mountains, deltas, magnificent beaches and four stunning World Heritage Sites.

From Ho Chi Minh City, with its beautiful French colonial buildings, we’ll explore the Cu Chi tunnels used during the Vietnam War by the Viet Cong; on the waterways of the Mekong Delta we visit a floating market and some island villages.

Da Lat, the former premier French Hill Station, is often called the City of Eternal Spring; from here we’ll ascend Lang Bian Mountain in the National Park.

Our journey to Nha Trang, the Vietnamese Riviera, takes us down the fantastic Ngoan Muc Pass. In Nha Trang we have a relaxing boat trip to swim, walk and snorkel. Hoi An is the first World Heritage area on our trip, it’s a working town where you feel you are stepping back 200 years. Whilst there we also visit the UNESCO site of My Son.

We then travel over the breathtaking Hai Van Pass to the Imperial City of Hue and take a trip on the Perfume River. On to Hanoi’s many tree-lined avenues and attractive buildings that date from the French Indochina period and to Hoa Binh with visits to traditional local villages. It’s then on to Halong Bay where we have an extensive cruise amongst the distinctive 3000 limestone islands and ’stacks’ forming this quite remarkable scenic phenomenon.

Vietnam is a great holiday experience but requires a ’Pioneer’ grade as alterations to hotel bookings, rescheduled or cancelled flights, and other changes to arrangements can take place without prior notice. However there should always be time to take advantage of the many shopping bargains in Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi and Hoi An!
