Tirolean Summer

The perfect mountain walking holiday in Austria
Overview

A fortnight in the Stubai valley has everything you could wish from a summer holiday in the Alps. The picturesque valley villages, with their window boxes and surrounding hay meadows give way to woodland and high alpine pasture. Here cows roam, the views stretch far away down the valley, and alpine huts dot the alms. Higher still the rocky slopes lead to good scrambling to reach some excellent summits.

Our base is Fulpmes, just a short journey through the mountains from the beautiful city of Innsbruck. The good local buses and cable car system allow us to fully explore the area, whatever grade of walking is chosen.

Weekend walking became more important than a corporate career in management for Julian, so he quit and qualified as a full time tour leader for Ramblers Worldwide Holidays. He believes that it's the best way to discover and observe the world and meet like minded people.
