The archipelago of Guadeloupe has two main islands known as “le papillon”, because they form the shape of a butterfly, with verdant slopes and shores surrounded by warm clear blue waters. Discover the unique mix of French and Caribbean culture through our Caribe Francais holiday. We’ll spend our time walking on the more mountainous western island of Basse-Terre, home to the wild Guadeloupe National Park. Here we’ll explore the Soufriere volcano, hike to the highest waterfall in the Lesser Antilles and visit the north-east coast, the location for TV’s Death in Paradise. Here our walk takes us along the picturesque coastline and to the Reserve Cousteau, where we’ll enjoy a glass bottom boat cruise. We’ll also island hop over to Terre de Haut, the largest of the Les Saintes islands to enjoy a walk and visit its only village, Bourg des Saintes.
