This departure: Grade 4/SS

  1. Day 1

    We arrive into Dubrovnik and transfer by private coach to the Hotel Huma, on the Bay of Kotor, for seven nights' accommodation. After check in, there will be time for an orientation walk of the area with your group leader, before you evening briefing, followed by dinner at the hotel.

  2. Day 2

    We get to know the Old Town of Kotor today with a guided visit of the city and the city's walls. After free time for lunch, we take a boat trip around Kotor Bay including Lady of the Rock island with its fascinating church and museum. 

  3. Day 3

    We travel to the famous village of Njegusi, the birthplace of Prince Njegusi (Montenegro's national hero), which lies on the slopes of Mt Lovcen. We visit a smokehouse and taste the local products before we continue to Lovcen National park, where we walk up to the prince's mausoleum and the mount's summit. 5kms/3.5 miles; 1.5-2 hours; A/D 350m

  4. Day 4

    We start our day in Budva, with time to explore the town, before continuing to Brajici to begin our day's walk. We pass by the Kosmac-Fortress and reach St Spiridon mountain church. Here we start our descent to Praskavica Monastery with views of iconic Sveti Stefan as we go. 13kms/8 miles; 5 hours; A200m/D900m

  5. Day 5

    Today is a free day. You may choose to relax at the hotel, take an optional excursion or explore the area around the hotel.

  6. Day 6

    From Kotor Town, we'll walk amongst the mountains on a zig-zag trail which takes us to the top of Mt Vrmac. The views of Kotor Bay are spectacular! Today's walk will have the most challenging descent of the week's walks. 11kms/7 miles; 6 hours; A605m/D670m

  7. Day 7

    A super day offering breath-taking views of Skadar Lake, the largest in Europe. Our day culminates in the old capital city of  Cetinje. 8kms/5 miles; 3.5-4 hours; A/D 350m We return to our hotel with time to freshen up before eat go out for a farewell dinner at a local restaurant.

  8. Day 8

    Following breakfast, we make the transfer back to Dubrovnik for our return flight to the UK

  • Return flights from Gatwick to Dubrovnik (British Airways or Easyjet)
  • Airport transfers by road c.1hr 40mins
  • We can offer regional flight options and often there will be up to two transfer vehicles (which may include coaches, minibuses or taxis) from the airport to the hotel and vice versa which will minimise any waiting time at the overseas airport
  • Upgrades are available on most flights. For scheduled flights this may be Premium Economy, Business or First Class. Most low-cost carriers also have extra legroom seats.
  • If direct regional flights are not available, we can often offer add-on flights to a London airport at a competitive rate. Please ask us for details and a competitive quote.

Hotel Huma

The Hotel Huma Kotor Bay holds an enviable position on the seafront with its own private beach area. It is located in the historic town of Dobrota, on the bay of Kotor, approximately 2.5kms from Kotor's Old Town. The hotel facilities include a swimming pool, restaurant, beach bar and wellness spa. This is truly a superb hotel. All rooms are en suite with TV, mini fridge, hairdryer, tea/coffee maker, safe deposit box and complimentary wi-fi. We enjoy breakfast and dinner at the hotel each day, with the exception of our last night, when we go out to a local restaurant.
