SOUTH AFRICA FLY-CRUISE SAFARI

A SOUTH AFRICAN ODYSSEY

From the mountains to the sea, South Africa with its rich diversity of landscapes, wildlife and natural beauty, will take your breath away. Take a moment to drink it all in as you stand atop Table Mountain, or watch some of the country’s famous residents - the African penguin - as they waddle across the shoreline to dart in and out of the waves.

Join us in Cape Town and cruise along the stunningly beautiful coastline of South Africa, stopping to discover amazing wildlife and natural landscapes along the way. Step ashore at a string of incredible destinations to go in search of the country’s most iconic wildlife and unspoilt natural landscapes. Cape Town, Port Elizabeth, Richards Bay, Durban and Mossel Bay are all part of the itinerary and we overnight at most ports, allowing us to experience the sights, sounds and smells of South Africa’s unique landscapes.

Flights depart from London Heathrow to Cape Town with British Airways. Flight upgrades and/or domestic add-on flights may also be available, please ask for a competitive quote. Both fly-cruises begin with an overnight stay in Cape Town.

Our unique shore walks and excursions include:

Port Elizabeth: We take a 4 x 4 adventure through Addo National Elephant Park to see elephants, Cape Buffalo and much more in their natural habitat. Our second day sees us on a guided city tour with a local guide.

Richards Bay: Set within Zululand, we take a trip to Hluhluwe Game Reserve and walk along the superb beaches to The Cave of the Bats.

Durban: We take a tour of the city with a local guide to explore the largest city in the province of KwaZulu Natal. We visit the Kwa Mashu Apartheid Museum which is acknowledged as the pre-eminent museum in the world dealing with 20th century South Africa, at the heart of which is the apartheid story.

Mossel Bay: With a rich history, it’s hardly surprising that there are several important museums here. Apart from the Maritime Museum, there are others devoted to the wild flowers of the area, to seashells and to local cultural history. We explore the museums with a local guide and there may be time for a swim from one of the white-sand beaches.

Cape Town: There’s much to discover during almost three days in the ‘Mother City’. We spend a day visiting the stunning scenery at Cape Point and the penguins of Boulders Beach. Weather permitting we take the cable car to the top of Table Mountain and walk down into Kirstenbosch Gardens. We can also visit District 6, a former inner-city residential area where over 60,000 of its inhabitants were forcibly removed during the 1970s by the Apartheid Regime.
