What's Included

What's included in the price of my holiday ?


We work hard to ensure that each holiday is one to remember and that every part is carefully planned to give you a fantastic experience and fantastic value for money!

Travel
Included travel arrangements by air, rail, road or sea are given on the pages relating to individual holidays, so please ease refer to these for full details. Included flights are by economy scheduled or charter service and rail travel is second class unless otherwise stated in the individual holiday pages and Holiday Information Sheets. Please see our Travel Information page and our individual holiday pages for more details.

Flights (if included - see individual holiday descriptions for details)
We recognise that it can be both difficult and expensive travelling to airports in the south east of England, and we try to cater for this. In the index, we indicate with the holidays where we can offer some direct flights from Manchester. These flights usually incur a supplement, depending on availability at the time the request is received. It can be difficult to secure sufficient seats on direct flights, so it is imperative to book as early as possible to avoid disappointment.

Where we have seats held on scheduled service flights, the unsold seats normally have to be returned to the airline 14 weeks before our holiday’s departure. Please do book early as we are not always able to buy back seats at the original price, resulting in a supplementary charge. Occasionally this can also be the case when we have to buy additional seats due to higher than expected demand.

Please note that our Air Travel Organiser’s Licence (ATOL) covers only clients who travel by air under our auspices from the United Kingdom. For more information about how we protect your holiday and your money please see our section on Financial Protection page.

Flight upgrades
We can offer flight upgrades to premium economy, business class or even first class to the majority of destinations we feature, please see the pages for individual holidays. We are a British Airways Preferred Partner and can easily arrange an affordable upgrade for your flight. International Rail Travel (if included - see individual holiday descriptions for details)
Details of the Eurostar terminal at St Pancras International station in London can be found at www.eurostar.com.

Transfers
Ground transportation, as required to complete the advertised holiday itinerary, between airports and centres, including internal flights are usually included unless otherwise specified in our individual holiday descriptions or supplementary Holiday Information Sheets. Transfers may be by road, rail or on foot!

Airport or harbour taxes and British Air Passenger Duty
Please note that these charges are constantly under review so should these increase or additional charges be levied, we regret that we may have to pass the cost on to you.

Accommodation
Depending on your destination, our chosen places to stay range from five-star spa hotels to tea huts, selected in order to give you an authentic experience of the area.

Our choice of accommodation is selected to give you an authentic experience of your destination and will generally be in single and twin-bedded rooms with a shower and WC. In Europe we usually select small, comfortable, family-run hotels, though this is variable on destination, for example on some of our higher walking grade holidays you stay in mountain huts where facilities are basic. In many of our long haul destinations, you will find the accommodation is of a very high standard, making these holidays outstanding value.

Meals
As stated in your holiday description. Meal arrangements are specified in each holiday description. Most are half board, which includes breakfasts (usually continental) and evening meals (or occasionally lunch). These are either at the hotel or in a local restaurant and consist of two or three courses. When a holiday states ‘all meals’, lunch is usually a packed lunch. If you have any particular dietary needs, we are able to accommodate most requests, although we cannot guarantee it. Our Reservations Team will be able to advise you further according to your destination, so please call them to discuss your needs before booking.

Walking programme
A walking or sightseeing programme (excluding any ancillary transport costs and any entrance fees unless otherwide specified) as planned by your tour leader is included.

Applicable VAT, ATOL Protection contribution and other local taxes and levies
As well as the aviation taxes mentioned above, there are a lot of taxes on your holiday and the only way they’re going is up - see the surcharge section and book early to minimise your holiday cost!

Hotel service charges and tips
We do include an allowance for our tour leaders to tip those providing services on your holidays, however you may wish to organise your own additional tips for staff, drivers and guides. Advice on local tipping is provided on our What's Not Included page.

Surcharges
All prices are guaranteed against surcharges, except airline charges and fuel. In these circumstances, we will absorb an amount equivalent to 2% of the holiday charge. See paragraph 3 of our standard Terms and Conditions.

Visas and Visa Processing (if necessary - see individual holiday descriptions for details)
If your holiday requires you to obtain a visa, we will often process this for you, however visas are not included in the tour charges unless otherwise stated. We will send the paperwork for visas to you where necessary with the confirmation of your booking. When we ask you to fill in a ‘Personal Details Form’ please do so as soon as possible and please ensure that the details you provide agree exactly with those printed in your passport.

Where visas are not included in the holiday charge, you can obtain your own visa or in some cases you can ask us to obtain it for you, for which we may charge a fee.   Please don’t obtain expensive visas more than three months before departure without reference to us.

On holidays involving the party travelling on a group visa, should you be making your own travel arrangements and not checking-in for travel with the main party, it will be necessary to make your own independent visa arrangements which may involve additional cost and lengthy application procedures. It is also essential that you arrive at your UK departure airport in time to travel with the main party; if you arrive too late you may not be permitted to board a later flight or gain entry to your destination country!

As with all group tour operators, we do require a minimum number of participants to operate each tour. Should this number not be reached (or there is a major change in flight or travel arrangements) we reserve the right to cancel the holiday. All provisional outward departure and homeward return flight or rail times featured are correct at time of writing, but they can change. Please do not finalise any independently booked connecting domestic travel (or other arrangements) before you have checked with us, and certainly not earlier than twelve weeks before your intended date of travel. On occasions, there may be onerous cancellation terms on pre-booked domestic travel and hotels for which we cannot accept responsibility, and you are advised to check on these carefully before finalising arrangements.
