What's Included

We are committed to offering exceptional holidays at exceptional value.

Unless otherwise stated we include local transport costs, experienced tour leaders, accommodation, meals (usually half board), service charges, tips, surcharges, airport taxes, air passenger duty, travel (by air or rail), and transfers.

What's not included

To give you an idea of the kind of additional costs you may have to consider when budgeting for your holiday, we don't include such items as entrance fees to some museums and historic buildings (unless otherwise specified - although often included on long haul holidays), personal expenses (such as your bar bill), discretionary tips or any optional excursions.

Holiday Grades

Matching the right walking grade to suit your ability and comfort level is key to your enjoyment. You can follow your spirit of adventure, passion for the outdoors and the desire to enjoy the world's high places with our Moderate or Challenging grade holidays. Or, if you prefer, explore the cultural cities of Europe on foot, or walk on gentle slopes and scenic coastal paths on a Leisurely or Moderate graded holiday.

What will you send me?

On completion of your booking, we will send you a Confirmation of Booking invoice along with a Holiday Information Sheet (also downloadable from the individual holiday pages) containing more information about what to expect on your holiday.

If you book by telephone we will send these documents by post. If you book online you will receive them by email.

Receiving your booking confirmation by email

As any booking confirmation email we send you will contain links and documents as attachments. Please don't forget to add the address [email protected] to your email system's address book, 'Safe Sender' list or 'Whitelist' to reduce the risk of your email client not accepting receipt of your holiday confirmation documents.

If you don't see a booking confirmation email arrive in your email Inbox shortly after making your booking, please check that your computer hasn't simply directed it into your spam or junk folder.

What happens next?

Please notify us in good time of any medical conditions, disability or other issues relevant to your participation in the holiday of which we need to be aware.

Approximately two weeks before departure we will send you a Travel Note with your air tickets, rail tickets or cruise tickets confirming the timings of your travel arrangements.

If you are travelling out to join your holiday in its destination, we will send you final Joining Instructions for your holiday five weeks before departure.

 

Late Bookings

We do not offer last minute discounts on our holidays as a holiday’s departure date approaches, so please book early to ensure that you get the holiday and travel arrangements you want.

Should you book late, particularly within 6 weeks of departure, we may have to buy in additional flight seats or rooms in order to be able to confirm your booking and this may result in a higher price than advertised on our website and in the brochure.

 

Advance Registrations

Should a holiday or individual departure date not be on sale yet, you can make a no-commitment Advance Registration for the holiday.

When the holiday is priced and ready to go on sale, we will contact you to offer you an early opportunity to make a confirmed booking.

Although we will ask you to pay a deposit at the time of making the Advance Registration, should you not wish to proceed with the booking we will refund your deposit in full.

Changes to Advertised Holiday Arrangements

Should there be any significant changes to your holiday arrangement from that described in our brochure, we will advise you either at the time of booking or as soon as possible thereafter.

 

Changes to your Booking

If after booking you wish to make changes to your holiday arrangement, we will endeavour to assist you, however additional charges may apply.

If you or someone else on the booking are unable to proceed with the holiday, you can request to transfer your booking to some one else. Please see Section 5 of our Booking Conditions for more details.

If you're booked to share a room with another group member and change your mind after the holiday has started, please note that we cannot accept any additional costs resulting from the provision of alternative or additional accommodation. This may involve the payment of two single supplements. Such payments should be made locally at the time of the change.

 

Land-Only Bookings

If you wish to organise your own flights from a non-UK or provincial airport, or travel by rail or car to the holiday centre, 'no-travel' reductions are often available, although there can be restrictions due to our airline commitments, please call for details.

Please note that Early Bird Discounts do not apply to holidays which do not include outbound and return flights.

Travel Insurance

You must be adequately insured to join our holidays or you won’t be able to participate in our local programmes. Insurance is optional for UK citizens or residents holidaying in the UK except for holidays to the Channel Islands.

Apart from the exception above, we require you to purchase adequate travel insurance appropriate to the demands of your holiday although we do not require you to purchase it from us.

Should you obtain your holiday insurance from another provider, you must provide us with the details of your insurance policy before you travel.

Please note that it is very difficult to obtain travel insurance cover once your holiday arrangements have commenced.

Consumer Protection

We provide full financial protection for our package holidays. For flight based holidays this is through our Air Travel Organiser's Licence (ATOL). Holidays without an included flight are protected by way of a bond held by ABTA.
