Here's what our leaders have been up to...

Tue, 07 Apr 2020

Here at Ramblers Walking Holidays, we are all passionate about the great outdoors and the wonderful world we live in; so we share the challenges that now face us all with the restrictions on social distancing and going outside. Instead of leading their favourite tours, our lovely walking tour leaders have been keeping themselves busy at home, whether that's by practicing their baking and cooking, decorating the house and garden, or doing a puzzle with their cat! We are all in this together and look forward to welcoming you back on our holidays in the not too distant future!

Tom Hanna

"I should have been leading on Portugal’s Emerald Coast but I’m stuck at home with Penny - it could have been worse!"

John Bridges

"I should have been leading in Hassness but am now stuck at home watching over the lambs!"

Julia Williams

"I should have been leading in the Lake District, but instead I'm stuck at home painting the garden bench."

Angie Ayling

"I should have been leading in Malta & Gozo, and the Giants Causeway. Instead I am doing lots of gardening, as well as running (just once a day of course!)"

Rod Ellis

"I’m usually in Sithonia leading several “Unspoilt Greece” tours, but am now stuck in my workshop woodturning!"

Clare  & Ian Bonnick

"We should have been leading in Majorca but our dog is pleased his routine will not be disrupted."

Frank Vukovich

"I should be introducing a Group of Ramblers from Wales to Croatia but sadly I’m not. The only upside is that I can get an earlier than usual start on my garden in NW Quebec."

Sandra Kallitsakis

"I should have been leading on the Greek island of Evia, but I’m stuck at home playing Greek music on the piano instead!"

Ken Dufton

"This spring I should have been leading in Portugal (Fisherman's Trail), Turkey (St. Paul's Trail) and Spain (Grazalema and Sierra de las Nieves) but I'm stuck at home and have finally run out of excuses as to why I can't strip those doors!!!"

Neil Hook

"I should be leading in Spain.  Here I am, in front of the computer in my decorating shirt (£1 from the charity shop).  Bedroom repainted; lounge next."

Annette Cotter

"I should be leading in The Outer Hebrides. Instead I’m enjoying walks in Harpenden"

Alison Mellor

"I would be leading in Turkey on the Lycean Way in April then in May in Greece, in the Sporades islands (Skiathos and Skopolos) and Pelion mainland. Instead I am currently still in New Zealand after leading a tour there and enjoying my daily strolls."

Karen Groenewald

"I should have been leading in Portugal, instead I am doing a puzzle with help from my cat!"

Al & Jane Sarjeant

"We should have been leading in Majorca & Alpujarras, instead we are at home in Rutland, catching up with all the gardening jobs!"

Roma Whiteley

"I should have been leading in Grazalema and Sierra de Las Nieves, but I'm stuck at home stripping wallpaper"

Daniela Sartori

"I should have been leading in Africa but stuck at home baking instead. Yummy!"

Jenny Williams
