Our Walking Holidays to Germany

In Germany, you can find beautiful fairytale castles on hilltops, taste refreshing local beers, try an array of winter sports or explore picturesque villages in lush valleys with flower-filled meadows close by. Whatever time of the year you decide to visit, you can guarantee a warm welcome from the locals, as well as stunning landscapes with endless trails to walk and intriguing sites to uncover. One of the many gems you can discover on walking holidays to Germany is the Moselle Trail, which follows the twists and turns of the river from Perl in the south to Koblenz in the north, where the river joins the Rhine.

Along the way, there are spectacular views to be enjoyed as you walk through farmlands and cherry orchards, dotted with half-timbered houses; bright with window boxes, castles, historic towns and charming traditional riverside villages. Watch the life on the river, as barges and pleasure boats float down the still waters, all while savouring a local bottle of wine from the famous Moselle Valley.

The ‘Bavarian Beer Garden Holiday’ is the best way to experience traditional Bavarian life, with walks starting in the idyllic village of Bad Kohlgrub and heading on to see mesmerising lakes, waterfalls and mountain ranges. Then, you will ramble over to culturally significant sites like Ettal Abbey and King Ludwig II’s Linderhof Palace.

If you’re feeling adventurous, try our ‘Winter Activities in Ruhpolding’ itinerary and embark on exciting excursions in the Alpine snow. Alternatively, venture on our ‘Füssen - A Winter Fairytale’ holiday to discover Germany’s rich history and captivating landscape in this wondrous 700-year-old town.

Why Book a Walking Holiday to Germany?

The landscapes of Germany offer plenty of opportunities for walking and drinking, not only because of its varied trails but fantastic vistas, too.

On a warm summer’s evening, where better place to be than a traditional rural Bavarian beer garden on the shores of a lake, with a large glass of the local monks’ brew in hand; beads of condensation dripping enticingly down? After all, you’ve earned it after a day walking in the high mountains, lakes and waterfalls of Bavaria. So, raise your glass to a walking holiday with Ramble Worldwide in Germany.

Each of our walking holidays have been carefully curated by our experienced travel experts, who have travelled extensively in Germany; building the most enjoyable itineraries for outdoors lovers of all abilities. Enjoy small group walking trips that provide an ‘up close and personal’ experience, as well as comfortable accommodation organised for you in advance. All you need to do is immerse yourself in these spectacular trails to create long-lasting memories.
