An Algarve Retreat

The world today is busy, and a stressful lifestyle is becoming the norm, with less and less time to spend on you, your mind and your body. Sometimes you may feel you need to unwind and take time for yourself. A retreat in the Algarve will do just that!

Escape with us to the tranquil Algarve in Portugal. The Eastern Algarve enjoys a quieter, more relaxed pace of life. Close to the Spanish border and surrounded by plantations of orange and lemon trees, the Eastern Algarve is home to beautiful sandy beaches and picturesque Portuguese towns dotting the waterfront. Scent infused pine forests and gentle rolling hills surround the pretty beach town of Monte Gordo, our centre for the week. We are located close to the river Guadiana on the Portuguese-Spanish border. Take a dip in the turquoise sea, the water here is calm and the warmest in Portugal as Monte Gordo’s beaches are sheltered from the cooler Atlantic winds. 

During our week we'll escape the pressures of everyday life and take time to explore the Algarve on foot. Days will be spent exploring pretty seaside towns such as Altura and Olhao. We'll unwind in the sea air and cycle to beautiful Tavira and the unique Castro Marim Nature Reserve. A ferry takes us across the border to Ayamonte in Spain for a traditional tapas lunch. We can enjoy a boat ride through the labyrinth of islands of the tranquil Parque Natural da Ria Formosa. 

Our hotel has wonderful spa facilities and is just a stone’s throw away from the beach and a short walk away from the main streets of Monte Gordo, perfect for exploring the Algarve. The hotel's spa facilities include a heated indoor swimming pool and a rooftop swimming pool with glorious views. There is a gym and a relaxing wellness area with a jacuzzi, sauna and a temperature contrast bath (alternating between warm and cold water), perfect therapy for muscle improvement.  

There will be opportunities to participate in morning Yoga and Pilates classes next to the rooftop pool at the hotel. These will be suitable for both beginners and seasoned practitioners. The classes will also focus to those areas of the body that support walking activity.
