Hampshire Hikes & Historical Sites
Bring intriguing coastal trails and history alive in South Hampshire.
Martinique is a stunningly beautiful French-Caribbean island which forms part of the Lesser Antilles island group. It’s home to charming towns and villages with boutique shops and cafes, as well as picturesque beaches and coastal paths, all of which can be explored on foot during a walking holiday to this idyllic island.
A walking holiday to Martinique allows you to take in the beauty and culture of this island at leisure. By embarking on our ‘Caribbean Explorer’ holiday, you will get to spend four nights here, staying at the colourful and palm tree-rich La Pagerie hotel. During your stay, you’ll get to explore the island’s capital, Fort-de-France, visiting the St. Louis Cathedral and the old fort along the way. Later in your trip, you will take in Martinique’s most spectacular natural landscapes including its rainforests, rivers and coastal paths. Enjoy a relaxing stroll through the village of Saint-Anne, before trekking La Caravelle Peninsula and visiting the thriving botanical gardens. In addition to the wonderful walks, you will have plenty of time to put your feet up, too. On the island’s heavenly golden beaches, you’ll be able to relax and also have a swim, before rounding off your unforgettable stay with a superb rum tasting session.

Full and half day walks at a moderate pace over hilly terrain. Half day walks will probably involve about 3 hours of walking, with full day walks having around 5 hours. Expect ascents and descents of up to 600m. Some days of this holiday will be dedicated solely to sightseeing (or include an element of sightseeing). To enhance your experience, a knowledgeable local guide will accompany your small group for part (or the majority) of the holiday.
