The coast, villages and countryside of the Eastern Algarve and then explore the treasures of this most westerly corner of Europe.
Aruba is a small island which sits just north of the coast of Venezuela, but what it lacks in size it makes up for in natural beauty. The island’s spectacular site, Arikok National Park, is home to an array of picturesque scenery, all of which makes for excellent viewing on a walking holiday.
With nature and beauty in abundance, there is no shortage of sights to see in Aruba. Situated on the east coast is Arikok National Park, which takes up around 18 percent of the entire island and is the place to go when venturing on walking holidays in Aruba. There is a wealth of spectacular views and landscapes to see here, as well as sites of cultural and historical significance to Aruba, such as the ancient rock paintings left by the Caquetio Indians which can be found on the Cunucu Arikok trail and in Fontein Cave.
These incredible caves are amongst the park’s top attractions, but there are also impressive volcanic rock formations to see during your visit here, as well as a beach which is home to nesting turtles and a natural pool known as a Conchi. Alternatively, ascend to the park’s highest point, Jamanota Hilltop, to get sweeping views of the island.
The park also contains a wide variety of flora and fauna, as well as a number of reptiles and birdlife, such as lizards and parakeets. With all of this and more to see here, Arikok National Park alone makes Aruba an excellent destination for a hiking holiday.
