Walking Holidays in Aruba

Aruba is a small island which sits just off the north coast of Venezuela, but what it lacks in size it makes up for in natural beauty. The island’s national park, Arikok National Park, is home to an array of beautiful scenery, all of which makes for excellent viewing on a walking holiday.

Situated on the island’s east coast, Arikok National Park takes up around 18% of the entire country and is the place to go when on a walking holiday in Aruba. There is a wealth of spectacular views and landscapes to see here, as well as sites of cultural and historical significance to Aruba, such as the ancient rock paintings left by the Caquetio Indians in Cunuca Arikok and Fontein Cave, making the treks highly rewarding.

These incredible caves are amongst the park’s top natural attractions, but there are also impressive volcanic rock formations to see during your visit here, as well as a beach which is home to nesting turtles, and a natural pool known as a Conchi. Alternatively, ascend to the park’s highest point, Jamanota Hilltop, to get sweeping views of the island.

The park is also home to an abundance of flora and fauna, including a number of reptiles and birdlife, such as lizards and parakeets. With all of this and more to see here, Arikok National Park alone makes Aruba an excellent destination for a walking holiday.
