SHORE WALKS AND EXCURSION HIGHLIGHTS:

Cadiz - We walk the narrow streets of the old town and visit the central market for a chance to sample some delicious chocolate y churros.

Seville - We explore the orange-blossom scented streets of the Barrio Santa Cruz, discover the shady patios and ramparts of the Moorish Alcázar and visit Columbus' tomb in the Cathedral.

Malaga - A city with an attractive old centre as well as good walking in the hills behind where we walk amongst the pines, eucalyptus, broom, lavender and cistus.

Cartagena - In the Spanish province of Murcia, this is a city where you can peel back the layers of over 2000 years of history. We explore the city and part of the wild Costa Calida.

Barcelona - A city of so many contrasts. There are the narrow streets and peaceful squares of the Barri Gotic, the Olympic Park on the hillside of Montjuic, the port and Gaudi’s sensational buildings.

Valencia - The home of paella and amazing festivals. Enjoy wandering the streets of the old town with a local guide, then stop for a refreshing horchata, made from tiger nuts, a fruit grown only in Valencia.

Vigo - In this Spanish port close to the border with Portugal we visit the town with a local guide and make our way up to the viewpoint at the top of the Parque do Castro for views over the estuary and out to sea.

Lisbon - With a local guide we walk through the romantically named districts and the narrow cobbled streets of the old town.

Drinks Inclusive Package: A Drinks Inclusive Package is available for £25 per person per night. The offer includes bar drinks such as wine, beer, spirits and soft drinks (but not cocktails, premium drinks, minibar drinks, room service or events such as an additional afternoon tea visit).

Fred.Olsen adopts smart casual dress code: Fred. Olsen has altered its dress code to allow for a smart casual option. There will still be formal nights on selected evenings, but the relaxed dress code will apply on all other nights. This means men can wear open necked shirts, chinos and dark coloured jeans, and women a dress or casual separates.

Balmoral

Balmoral is named after the Scottish residence of the British Royal Family, and is the largest of Fred. Olsen’s ocean-going cruise ships, yet is still small enough to navigate size-restricted waterways such as the Kiel Canal, providing fantastic scenic cruising opportunities. Balmoral retains the warm, intimate and friendly atmosphere that the Fred. Olsen fleet is renowned for. Featuring 710 well-appointed rooms and suites and a selection of comfortable lounges, bars and inviting public areas, which have been recently extensively refitted and improved, Balmoral provides guests with ample space in which to relax and enjoy the facilities on board.

There is always an array of superb entertainment on offer throughout the day, from lectures and hobby classes to enjoy on sea days as well as shows, reviews and evenings of cabaret and comedians, ensuring you can make the most of your time on board. Whether it's watching the evening show at the beautifully refurbished Neptune Lounge; taking in stunning views over a traditional Afternoon Tea at the Observatory Lounge; sampling premium gins at the Lido Bar; or having a refreshing pint at the Morning Light Pub, you'll find there are plenty of places to unwind on board ship.

On board facilities also include two swimming pools, a fitness centre including a sauna, steam room and beauty salon, two sun decks, Jacuzzis, several lounges and bars, a card room, small casino, library, coffee shop, gelato bar, internet room and restaurants. The ship has a medical centre, a boutique, a shop where you can buy essentials such as sun cream or toiletries, and there is also a self service laundrette and ironing room on board.

All guest cabins are are equipped with climate control, an interactive smart TV, hairdryer, desk, phone, fridge (which can be stocked as a mini-bar) and tea and coffee making facilities as standard.  Allocated cabins will be an inside cabin unless you have paid a supplement to upgrade.

Your cabin steward will keep your cabin in immaculate condition, replacing any linen or towels as or when required. Separate towels are provided for poolside use. Balmoral operates a satellite telephone system, with telephones in each cabin, and personal mobile phones enabled for international roaming should work on board. The voltage on board the Balmoral is supplied at 220 volts (requiring a continental style 2-pin plug).

Payment on board is in Sterling, and a credit account system is operated on board allowing purchases to be charged to your account which must be settled at the end of your cruise.

Braemar

Capable of comfortably accommodating up to 929 passengers, Braemar has a un-crowded, intimate feel, with friendly staff. Large windows bathe the ship's public areas in natural light and provide spectacular views. One of the focal points on Braemar is the beautifully painted, five-deck-high Atrium area, while the cascading outside decks at the stern really enhance the ship's elegant profile and offer stunning vistas no matter which outside deck you're on.

Refreshed with new fixtures, décor and furnishings during her extensive refit in late 2017, there are updated restaurants, bars and lounges offering sumptuous cuisine, and fantastic daily entertainment.  From the grand Neptune Lounge, which hosts lectures and live shows, and the Coral Club, with its resident bands and large dance floor, to the welcoming Morning Light Pub and the intimate Observatory Lounge, there's a venue to suit every occasion on board Braemar. Spend time at the fully-equipped Fitness Centre, indulge yourself at the Atlantis Spa, relax in the pools or Jacuzzi or feel the sea breeze on a walk around the ship's open promenade.
