Madaba is home to the spectacular 6th century mosaic map of Jerusalem and the Holy Land which covers the floor of the Greek Orthodox Church of St George with two million pieces of vivid local stone. And at Mount Nebo you can follow in the footsteps of Moses, for this is believed to be his burial site, from where he viewed the ‘Promised Land’. Trips comprise of day walks with plenty of ups and downs, some steep and rough ground will be encountered at times and walks averaging 7 miles with 650m of ascent / descent. Some holidays will cover longer distances on easier paths, others will be shorter walks but have more demanding ascents and terrain.
