Guided Walking Holidays Barcelona

Walk in the footsteps of Antoni Gaudí and be inspired in a city full of wonderful art and culture with Ramblers Walking Holidays. Whether strolling the narrow, twisting streets of the Barri Gotic or peering up at the lofty spires of the Sagrada Familia, you will be enchanted.

Nestling between the mountains and the sea is the capital of Catalunya, the lively city of Barcelona. Its envious position provides a mild climate sheltered against winter winds from the north and cooled by a summer breeze off the sea. Barcelona vibrates with life and is one of the brightest, liveliest cities of Europe. A magnet for progressive ideas and home to over three million people, it’s also a vital part of Spanish industry with a thriving, lively port where locals gather to socialise and relax after a hard days' work.

Discover quirky gothic and art nouveau architecture, medieval streets and more modern areas such as the Eixample and Las Ramblas, stretching from the city centre to the harbour. A vibrant street life, traditional tapas bars, city squares and an attractive beach area where you can mingle with locals and soak up the atmosphere of this Mediterranean city.

During our stay, we include a four hour private guided walk of the Barri Gotic with an English speaking local guide as well as a two hour private guided walk of the architecture of Gaudi with an English speaking local architect. We also have a trip out to Montserrat’s famous Benedictine Monastery. The monastery is Catalonia’s most important religious retreat. At over 1200 metres above the valley floor, it is the highest point of the Catalan lowlands and ideally placed to play an important role in the cultural and spiritual life of Catalonia.
