Sightseeing holidays are not all about trudging around in groups looking at statues and monuments or taking a bus around a city listening to a pre-recorded tape about the local points of interest.
Our walking holidays that are classified as ‘Sightseeing’ are those that have itineraries with special historical or sightseeing interest. Often in towns or cities, these holidays usually involve lower grade, easier walking and allow free leisure time if you want it.

Where can I go?
We offer a number of sightseeing tours, in some amazing countries from the wide open spaces of New Zealand to the ancient civilisations of Syria, from the vibrancy of New York to the art and culture of Rome.............
On our new Best of New Zealand, we have picked the highlights from our Grand Tour holiday and included them in this 16-day trip. See the geysers in Rotorua, visit the capital city of Wellington, walk on the west coast's Fox Glacier region and take in amazing views in Mount Cook National Park. An action-packed holiday of a lifetime!
Syria is still a country untouched by mass tourism. Archaeologists have shown us that it was the centre of one of the world's most ancient civilisations and we visit many important sites on this 12 day tour. We begin in St Paul's city of Damascus where we have plenty of time to explore - one of the highlights must be the town of Bosra with possibly the best preserved Roman theatre in existence. We will also spend time in Aleppo and Palmyra walking amongst citadels, mosques and souks. Come with us to this fascinating land and step back in time.
New York, New York - so good they named it twice! Join our 9 day sightseeing holiday to this truly awe-inspiring city. As well as all the famous sights such as the Empire State Building, Grand Central Station and the Statue of Liberty, we also do some of the more unusual. Included in our programme is a rail trip up the Hudson River Valley where we can explore historic colonial villages, a walk across the Brooklyn Bridge with unparalleled views of the Manhattan skyline and a visit to the Smithsonian Museum of the Native American. Save some room for a great deli lunch and pack an extra bag for all that shopping that you are bound to do!
If you only have a week to spare, what better place to spend your time than Rome. We are proud to boast that our hotel in Rome, a converted monastery, has the most spectacular frontage of any in our brochure! Marvel at the breath-taking art that this city has to offer, step back in time at the Colosseum, enjoy an ice cream on The Spanish Steps and don't forget to throw a coin into the waters of the Trevi Fountain to ensure that you will return one day! We also have some time to escape the bustle of the city and stroll in the Alban Hills on this fabulous holiday.
