Wonderful Copenhagen

A Danish fairytale city
Overview

Denmark is an enchanting land of fjords, rivers and medieval towns. Its capital city, Copenhagen, is a delight - winding streets, captivating squares, the famed Tivoli Gardens, the statue of the Little Mermaid and the Vor Frue Kirke Cathedral, founded in 1191.

Beautiful period architecture provides a spectacular backdrop to our walking exploration of the city. We can also venture to Nyhavn, a cosmopolitan suburb and haven for many budding artists and writers taking inspiration from the pretty pastel coloured town-houses sprinkled along the canal.

We take public transport to the Oresund Coast and the port of Helsingor, home to the castle of Kronborg Slot, a World Heritage Site made famous in Shakespeare's 'Hamlet'.

Our day trip north is to the original capital of Denmark, Roskilde; a medieval fjord town, and home to a Viking museum plus the World Heritage Site of Roskilde Domkirke Cathedral, where many Danish Royals are buried.
