Walking on Gomera
Exploring the delights of this beautiful island.
OverviewWest of Africa is the attractive island of Gomera. First glimpses from the boat on its 90 minute journey from Los Cristianos in Tenerife to Gomera suggest that the island is barren and deserted, but you soon realise that the extraordinary fertility of the main islands is here also. Fertile valleys are dotted with small villages with an abundant supply of fresh water. Our centre on Gomera is the capital and main port of San Sebastian, a diverting town of old buildings and monuments with a relaxed pace of life. Columbus is said to have stopped here on his voyage which discovered the Americas.
We’ll have a good week walking and exploring the island enabling us to see the beauty of the valleys and wonderful seascapes. Our first and last nights are spent at a comfortable hotel in Los Cristianos, Tenerife.
