Walk Pelion & Sporades

Walking on Skopelos, and the Pelion peninsula
Overview

Here’s a fabulous holiday for true Greek enthusiasts with stunning walks, a little island hopping and plenty of swimming opportunities.

We start Greece’s green Pelion peninsula with its picturesque shaded mountain villages, still linked today by a network of Kalderimi - the ancient cobbled mule paths. Pelion remains unspoiled and quintessentially Greek with few foreign tourists. We’ll explore the peninsula on foot using the old mule tracks. We can swim only minutes from our hotel.

On Skopelos, the largest of the Sporades Islands, we stay above Skopelos town, with breathtaking views over the harbour towards Alonissos and the Venetian Kastro. Skopelos, "Mamma Mia island", has many fine beaches, some of which we will visit on our walks as we explore the island and discover what’s around the next corner.

Weekend walking became more important than a corporate career in management for Julian, so he quit and qualified as a full time tour leader for Ramblers Worldwide Holidays. He believes that it's the best way to discover and observe the world and meet like minded people.
