The Wine Villages of the Alsace
A great week's walking amongst some magnificent Alsatian countryside on the French-German border
OverviewGerman for a large part of the last 150 years, in France but not truly French, Alsace is a fascinating place. We stay in Kaysersberg, a village surrounded by vineyards.
We explore the lower slopes of the Rhine valley and walk through the open wooded higher slopes into the Vosges mountains where the culture is entirely different. Alsatian food is a treat, we can sample dishes that celebrate the fusion of French and German cuisines. Think French excellence and German portion size and you are not far off the mark.
Please note: some walks will be at the top end of the grade.
