The Majesty of Rajasthan
A journey through India’s Royal Heritage.
OverviewOn our journey through Rajasthan, one of India’s largest and most colourful states, we’ll see first hand some of the most impressive palaces and forts the country has to offer. The opulence of the Maharajahs, whose palaces we visit, contrasts with the simple life of villagers for whom time seems to have stood still. The bustle and noise of city life in Delhi and Agra compares sharply with the unspoilt, peaceful natural sites and wildlife reserves of the countryside.
We begin our journey with sightseeing in Delhi, then travel by train to Agra to visit the Taj Mahal and the deserted city of Fatephur Sikri. From Bharatphur, we visit the Koeoladeo Bird Sanctuary, continuing to Jaipur, where we visit the renowned Pink Palace and Amber Fort.
From the village of Narlai we’ll spend time walking in the beautiful countryside. We visit Udaipur with its famous lake palace, and then fly to Mumbai for a brief visit before returning home.
