Joan Feather
Joan is an experienced leader with over 10 years of leading for us in Europe and Worldwide. With fluent French, early on, she led in Morocco, now this country together with other Muslim countries has become of real interest to her. However, she puts a great deal of preparation, energy and enthusiasm into all her tours.
Al & Jane Sargeant
Al has led holidays since 2007, having gained extensive alpine experience during a long RAF career. He and his wife Jane (also an experienced hiker) usually work together, with Jane keeping Al’s over enthusiasm in check! They are passionate about exploring new places.
Keith & Theresa Milton
Theresa and Keith are experienced leaders having led for Ramblers for over 10 years both in Europe and worldwide. Together, their expertise, enthusiasm and knowledge of the natural world bring added interest to all their tours.
Karen Groenewald
Karen and her husband Fred lived for many years in South Africa and lead there for Ramblers Worldwide Holidays. They are national registered and specialist field guides and Karen’s specialities are wild flowers, birds and mammals.
Julian Wilkes
Weekend walking became more important than a corporate career in Management for Julian, so he quit and qualified as a full time leader for Ramblers Worldwide Holidays. He believes it is the best way to discover and observe the world and meet like-minded people.
Wendy Smith
In 1992, Wendy took a year’s career break to pursue her love of high mountains in South America, Nepal and New Zealand, and never went back! She returns every year to her beloved Alpujarras in Spain, and as a Spanish speaker leads many tours in South America, as well as South Africa, New Zealand, China and Nepal. Having recently learnt Italian, she now leads in Sicily and Tuscany as well.
Alf Robertson
Fourteen years on from jumping Hadrian´s Wall, escaped Scot Alf Robertson is still at large and being sheltered by a benevolent Ramblers Worldwide Holidays management. Sightings are most common in Spain and South America but he can be found anywhere where there are lovely mountains to walk in and rich culture to enjoy – so you may come across him on almost any Ramblers Worldwide Holiday!
George Reynolds
George Reynolds has led over 40 different holidays since he started as a leader for Ramblers Worldwide Holidays in 1997. His favourite places are Italy, South Africa and more recently Montenegro.
Bob Rogers
Bob Rogers loves exploring the mountains and wilder places of Spain and showing them to Ramblers Worldwide Holiday clients. He tells us there is nothing he would rather be doing – and it shows!
Angela Brown
Started as a leader for Ramblers Worldwide Holiday about 8 years ago. Her first tour was in Greece and she hasn’t looked back since. Often to be found on the island of Samos where she has lots of friends and knows lots of lovely walks. She also enjoys leading on our Cruise & Walk tours. Her main leading philosophy is to be as flexible as possible and there is no such thing as ‘lost’ – just a different way home!
Sara Dale
Five years ago Sara decided to put her love of languages, travel and outdoors together and became a RWH leader mainly dividing her time between Spain and Peru. Her fluent Spanish and knowledge of local culture and customs are sure to enhance your holiday experience.
Simon Cane
In 2002 Simon decided he preferred the outdoors, and so gave up his IT management job and started leading for Ramblers Worldwide Holidays. He has gone over the Col de Balme 11 times so far on either the Tour du Mont Blanc or the Haute Route. He is fluent in French and German and has a special interest in flora and geology.
Annette Cotter
Annette took very early retirement from investment management to lead for Ramblers Worldwide Holidays. You’ll find her leading in the world’s wilder places (the more remote the better) – nothing fazes her! She also loves sightseeing tours such as St Petersburg, leads our downhill ski programme and surveys new holidays. Her ambition is to still be trekking in Patagonia at the age of 85!
Sam Roebuck
Sam has been leading for Ramblers Worldwide Holidays since 2006. Interested in all things Roman, he can usually be found giving his infamous ’Little Lectures’ on tours with a strong Roman content, like our ’Hadrian’s Wall’ tour. The Emperor Hadrian was once referred to as a ’Curiositatum Omnium Explorator’ (searcher for the new and interesting), a phrase that could just as easily describe Sam.
Bill Kenney
Bill lived aboard for 38 years in Malta, Arabia, Germany and Holland, before retiring to Mumbles. After a varied and interesting career in the army he joined Ramblers Worldwide Holidays in 2000 to continue travelling. A ski instructor; as well as leading skiing and winter walking he enjoys leading in the Alps, Oman, Syria and Jordan, Morocco, the Mediterranean, Hong Kong and China. His experience aboard and languages are often put to good use, and he always endeavours to maximise the holiday experience. Bill is interested in history and local customs and seeks to share his knowledge with our clients. Enthusiastic and well organised Bill researched the Ramblers Worldwide Holidays tour in Oman where he served attached to the SAS in the sixties.
