John has been a compulsive traveller and walks leader since high school. Having completed the Three Peaks challenge of ascending Ben Nevis, Scafell and Snowdon within 24 hours he's also clearly got an adventurous streak. These days he leads mainly in Greece and Turkey with the odd trip to other destinations which have attracted his attention.

NEW Epirus lies in a relatively unknown area of northern Greece, bordering with Albania to the north. The mountainous, rugged countryside is simply stunning with the limestone peaks of the Pindhos range, forested ravines, traditional stone-built villages and graceful arched bridges.

Rome - a perfect city in which to enjoy the pleasures of sightseeing and walking in Italy. The city oozes history and charm and much of the historic centre is pedestrianised. Rome is a surprisingly easy city to navigate on foot. From our centrally located hotel most parts are within easy reach and we will make use of public transport to reach further afield.

The Aeolian Islands, named after the Greek God Aeolus, are located just off the north coast of Sicily. This volcanic archipelago is a UNESCO World Heritage Site with a rich history and is steeped in myth (Homer even mentions them in the Odyssey) - a simply magical place to spend time.
One week or 11 days exploring Marrakech and the mountains and valleys beyond.
Inside the old city walls we’ll discover the Koutoubia Mosque, the Saadian Tombs and the Djemaa el Fna square with its street entertainers and colourful souks. We’ll also spend time away from the city walking in the High Atlas Mountain range and Ourika Valley, visiting traditional villages, Berber souks and enjoying the stunning scenery.
Discovering the Maltese Islands - the heart of the Mediterranean.
This walking holiday starts in Malta and continues on Gozo. Our walks cross farmland, steep valleys, terraced fields and table-top hills and contrast the two islands.
With lakes, castles and stunning alpine views too!
Our holiday is based in the charming small Bavarian village of Bad Kohlgrub in the Ammer valley. During our week we’ll walk to beautiful lakes and waterfalls near Bad Bayersoien and Murnau, walk in and around the high mountains above Oberammergau and Garmisch, and visit some stunning Rococo buildings.
