Le Luberon
The chestnut-covered hills of the Luberon were made famous by Peter Mayle 20 years ago in his book ’A Year in Provence’. There can be few areas of the world where history and scenery blend so well. Typical features of deepest Provence dot the landscape - ancient bories, like igloos made of stone, windmills, vineyards, lines of plane trees and ruined citadels.

Pedalling through Burgundy
Burgundy has pretty much everything you need for a great holiday cycling and walking. It is criss-crossed by a network of canals whose towpaths provide wonderfully varied cycling and yet are virtually flat and traffic free.

Portuguese Wanderings
Of all the countries in western Europe Portugal is perhaps the least well known, its language the least recognisable and its many delights unexplored by the British.
