Norfolk Rambling
Lowland strolls in the tranquil Broads and natural beauty of the northern coast.
OverviewThere's no getting away from it, Norfolk is pretty flat; the soaring heights are elsewhere. But this corner of East Anglia does have a great variety of unique scenery to enjoy. From the meanderings of waterways of the Broads wetlands to lovely shoreline walks along the Norfolk Coast Path, there are views from over nature reserves, salt marshes and grazing meadows.
Inland, the countryside is crossed by long-distance footpaths such as the Weaver's Way taking in some of the highlights and tranquil landscapes of the Broads, the new Wherryman's Way which follows the River Yare and recalls the trading routes of the boats which plied these lowland inland waters.
Along the way we'll encounter the region's natural and man-made history and pass through the villages and market towns of this sparsely populated corner of England.
You could also take the opportunity to visit Norwich Cathedral with its lofty 315ft spire, stroll the riverside walk or take in the city views from atop the Norman castle mound.
