Nice & the Côte d'Azur
One week (or 11 days*) guided walking holiday in the South of France's Côte d'Azur
OverviewHere’s a week of sun, culture and natural beauty: the narrow winding streets of Nice’s old town, the Promenade des Anglais and the beautiful azure sea, the fabulous light which inspired Chagall, Picasso, Matisse, Cocteau and Renoir to live and work in the area, together with the romance of hill towns like Eze, Vence and St Paul de Vence, the cornice roads, a sprinkling of Roman remains and the villas of the rich and famous.
Nearby Villefranche-sur-Mer retains the feel of a fishing village in parts, whilst Cap Ferrat is home to the world’s rich and famous.
Garden lovers will enjoy Eze’s ’jardin exotique’ and find Menton irresistible with ’Le Val Rameh’ a highlight. Glitzy Monaco and Belle Epoque Cannes are short bus journeys away, and the red rocks of the Massif de l’Esterel give us one of several easy and scenic walks amidst rugged hills.
