Magical Kenya

Wildlife, Rift Valley, Mount Kenya and the Coral Coasts.
Overview

Come with us on a fascinating exploration of Magical Kenya, the very essence of all African adventures. A country that is rich with wildlife, full of tribal culture and completely covered by dramatic landscapes that are full of life and drama.

Whether it’s the Highlands of Mount Kenya, the Rift Valley’s flamingo filled lakes, the impressive birds and animals or the rich tribal culture, you will not be able to stop yourself falling in love with this beautiful country.

Our journey starts in Nairobi with walks in the tusu and in Kenya’s first National Park. Then we visit the home of Karen Blixen, of "Out of Africa" fame. We then head north west and descend into the Rift Valley to Lake Naivasha, a place unknown by most tourists, where we will have some great walking opportunities in Hells Gate. At Longonot National Park an optional D+ walk is available to prepare us for the Mount Kenya climb, alternatively, you can relax or explore at the lakeside from the hotel park. Still moving north west we head for Nakuru, sometimes over a million flamingos as well as rhino, lion and buffalo.

Aberdare National Park is next on the list, where we will fill our time exploring this mountainous and heavily forested area. To the east you will see Mount Kenya, the second highest mountain in Africa. It is situated just below the equator and capped with permanent glaciers. You will have the choice of taking a four day trek up the mountain (a grade C walk) with the reward of some breathtaking scenery or the option to stay in a wildlife conservancy where various activities will be on offer.

We then stay a night in Embu to recuperate before returning to Nairobi for our flight to Malindi, on arrival we travel to Watamu Bay where we can visit Watamu National Marine Park and the old arab city of Malindi before relaxing on the beach and enjoying some free time for reflection before our flight home.
