Loxton & the Mendips

The dramatic Cheddar Gorge and Somerset's finest landscapes.
Overview

Nestling between the Mendips and the Bristol Channel, Loxton is well located to explore the varied hill-country, coast and limestone natural wonders of northern Somerset.

The West Mendip Way passes the hotel and leads east to Crook Peak or westwards to Bleadon Hill - both with spectacular views over the Somerset Levels to Exmoor. We can explore Cheddar Gorge and its caves, the Burrington Combe ravine leading on to Dolebury hill-fort and Beacon Batch, the highest point on Mendip.

There's coastal walking near Weston-Super-Mare too. On a non-walking day, you could just enjoy the hotel's facilities or perhaps visit nearby Wells, Wookey Hole or Glastonbury.
