Jewels of Jordan

Hiking the spectacular landscapes of a forgotten country.
Overview

Jordan: a hospitable and historic land and home to many of the most spectacular sites of the Middle East, including the lost city of Petra, and the beauty of Wadi Rum; this is a majestic and captivating country.

We’ll explore the capital Amman, with its colourful bazaars, and visit the Temple of Artemis at Jerash en route to Ajloun, from where we spend a morning hiking.

At Kerak we’ll visit the Crusader Castle and take a dramatic walk from Ibn Hammad Above the Wadi Dana we’ll walk on the edge of the nature reserve, and visit the Red Rose city of Petra, set deep inside the narrow gorge with its walls rising two hundred metres from the desert floor.

From our camp in the spectacular landscape of Wadi Rum, we’ll explore the canyon and sand dunes and enjoy the quiet and colour of the desert. We’ll hike in Numeirah, swim in the Dead Sea and visit Mount Nebo, from where Moses viewed the Promised Land. At Madeba, see the ancient mosaic map of the Holyland.
