Jersey
Stroll the lanes and coastlines of an historic British Isle.
OverviewJersey is compact; just twelve miles by nine it’s the largest of the Channel Islands and great for a week’s island walking. Beautiful scenery and fascinating small towns and villages, gardens and historic monuments. Rich in flowers and wildlife and almost completely unspoiled, the calm island life ensures a relaxing backdrop for our explorations into its tranquil landscapes. Many of its age-old stone walls have been built from some of the oldest rocks in the British Isles. The Normandy coast, only 15 miles away, is visible on a clear day, and Jersey itself has a rich mixture of English and French culture and atmosphere.
We explore the island’s network of footpaths and quiet country lanes and use local transport to visit Jersey’s museums, megalithic monuments, fortifications and tropical gardens. Reminders of the island’s history await discovery. You’re conscious of the blue Channel seas never far away; the island’s beaches, coves, rugged rock formations and spectacular heather clad cliffs are a delight to wander around.
