In Search of Aphrodite
Coastal and mountain walking on a Mediterranean Isle.
OverviewCyprus is a beautiful island, adored by the mythical gods and goddesses of Ancient Greece, and where Aphrodite, the goddess of love and beauty, chose to emerge from the sea. And it’s not difficult to see why. With its golden beaches, picturesque villages, pine clad mountains, and cultural heritage, Cyprus has plenty to offer the visitor.
The island is a lovely destination anytime of the year, but none more so than the spring and autumn months. We’ll spend some days in the Troodos Mountain range, which offers a rugged landscape and cool temperatures, something you may not immediately expect from a Mediterranean island. Here we’ll discover pine scented forests, traditional villages, waterfalls, and Byzantine churches. Stunning scenery and panoramic views await us on every turn.
We continue down to the coast and the beauty of the Akamas Peninsula and surrounding areas, where we’ll walk through olive, citrus and almond groves following a coastal path and enjoying a swim from our hotel beach.
