Great JourneysWith our Great Journeys you can follow in the footsteps of some of the great travellers of a bygone age, experiencing several far-flung and exotic destinations all in a single guided walking holiday of a lifetime. Our Great Journeys are guided walking holidays that are longer in duration, take you across a wider region (often more than one country) and are generally lower grade, easier walking, staying in comfortable accommodation.
Weekend walking became more important than a corporate career in management for Julian, so he quit and qualified as a full time tour leader for Ramblers Worldwide Holidays. He believes that it's the best way to discover and observe the world and meet like minded people.
Julian is now one of our Nordic Walking Instructors and looks forward to showing you his technique in 2013.

The lost land of the Incas.
Peru walking holidays offer unsurpassed natural attractions from soaring Andean peaks to the huge depth of the Colca Canyon to the steamy Amazon jungle. Of the man made structures Machu Picchu is merely the most famous of the stunning remains of the pre-Spanish era. A magical trip through Argentina and Chile.
In this (relatively) small area where Argentina and Chile border Bolivia we have a microcosm of South America. From the high border pass at Paso de Jama (4200m) surrounded by Andean peaks where nothing grows to the abundant wine valleys around Cafayate, this is as diverse an adventure as you could imagine.
Fantastic wildlife and tropical beaches in between two iconic cities.
The Iguazu Falls, where the Iguazú River drops over the most impressive waterfalls on the planet must surely be the highlight of this magical trip. We start in Rio, ’Cidade Marvilhosa’ the ’marvellous city’, one of the most photogenic places in the world travelling towards Buenos Aires, the home of tango and asado, the Casa Rosada and Eva Peron.
