El Rompido - Ramblers 'Five-star'!
Gentle rambling with a smattering of natural history in south-west Spain.
OverviewHere’s a holiday based at a five-star hotel; a wonderful and relaxing holiday that offers a mixture of very easy walking, a little sightseeing and history, some flora and fauna and then to end each day we return to five-star comfort!
El Rompido is a beautiful, traditional fishing village on the Costa de la Luz, with fine swimming beaches and surrounded by 15 Natural Park areas. These include the Sierra de Aracena, the Picos de Aroche and the Parque Nacional de Doñana where we find a fabulous protected region of ecosystems and include a four-hour excursion in an overland bus.
There are dunes, sand, scrubland, forests and marshland and it is home to the endangered Iberian lynx, mongoose, Genet, Wild Boar and Fallow Deers, and a profusion of birdlife.

Hello – I am Misty the Westie and I work for Ramblers Countrywide Holidays in the Leader’s Department. It’s my job to sniff out new hotels and walks and report back to HQ. It’s a dog’s life, I know, but someone’s got to do it! ![]()
