Belton Woods

Rambling the charming and tranquil English landscapes of the Lincolnshire and Leicestershire vales.
Overview

Here is a hidden English gem; undulating limestone landscapes, canal and riverside paths contouring the Vale of Belvoir. These are crossed by the long distance footpaths of the Viking and Jubilee Ways, woodland tracks, meadow paths, country lanes and open rural walks. The trails of South Lincolnshire and Leicestershire provide a variety of vistas over this sparely populated and often overlooked region.

The wealth of these border country market towns and historical landowners is on display; the magnificent Belton House and its gardens are just across the road from our hotel and there's also the fairytale Belvoir Castle (pronounced 'beaver'), home to the Duke of Rutland which can be visited on one of our walks.

Our circular and linear walks mix attractive villages, waterside walking, wooded hills, heritage and changing views and refreshment stops along the way.
