OverviewHave you ever wanted to try winter sports, but had no idea which one to choose?
Here's a unique opportunity to try them all on our one week winter sports programme. We're based in the beautiful Rofan mountains in the picturesque unspoilt village of Steinberg am Rofan, where the local villagers motto is ""the most beautiful end of the world"" and is thus a perfect place for uncrowded and unspoilt trails and mountains.
During the week we will try cross country skiing along endless Langlauf trails through pine forests, snowshoeing up beautiful gorges and mountains, across deep unbroken snow for unspoilt winter views, take pleasant winter walks on well made tracks and try tobogganing on a mile long 'Rodalbahn'. We include snowshoe and cross-country equipment hire in the cost of the holiday, and will be using the hotels minibuses at no extra charge to explore the trails in nearby by Achensee and surrounding villages. We can also enjoy a short ride up a Gondola to explore the majestic Rofan peaks.

I started leading for Countrywide Holidays in 1970 and spent summers at their guest houses in Snowdonia, the Lake District and Scotland. I went on to act as a guide for the Austrian Alpine Club. My career and family commitments took me away from leading but when the opportunity arose I started again in the late 1990s.
