An African Journey
Through Zimbabwe, Botswana, Namibia and South Africa.
OverviewWe start this incredible adventure in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe, where we can enjoy a guided tour of the Falls and a sunset cruise on the Zambezi River. Then we ferry across the Zambezi River and enter Botswana where we spend the afternoon on a sunset cruise, game viewing in the unspoilt wilderness of Chobe National Park.
The next day begins with a game drive in Chobe National Park before leaving Botswana and crossing into Namibia. We drive through the Caprivi to our lodge on the banks of the Kwando River and spend the afternoon on a game drive through the famous Mudumu National Park.
Heading back into Botswana and onto the Okavango Delta we travel to our next lodge where we spend two days exploring the water pathways by speedboat and mokoros (traditional dugout canoes). We may stop at a secluded island in the hope of spotting elephants, waterbuck and other animals in this watery paradise.
Returning to Namibia we make our way along the Caprivi to Rundu on the banks of the Kavango River, overlooking Angola. From here it's onto Etosha National Park for two days filled with game drives! (We cannot always guarantee accommodation inside the Park)
Moving on, we head for Damaraland, one of the most dramatic and scenic regions in Namibia. We can explore the area on foot and enjoy the spectacular scenery and wildlife. You also have the option of visiting a Himba Tribe.
We then head for the coast to the German town, Swakopmund, following the skeleton coast and visiting Africa's largest seal colony where zoom lenses and binoculars will definitely not be required.
Still heading south we visit the Namib Naukluft National Park and overnight at Maltahohe (Sesriem) before setting off early the next day to visit the world's highest sand dunes at Sossusvlei. These dunes can reach a height of 300m, and provide a perfect photo opportunity.
Next we head off for Fish River Canyon. The Fish River Canyon is a chasm 100 miles long and up to 17 miles wide. We have time to explore the area before moving onto Orange River which makes up the South African-Namibian boundary.
Saying goodbye to Namibia and hello to South Africa we make our way along the coast through the Namaqualand region and Clanwilliam area for one night before completing our journey in Cape Town.
Cape Town is one of the world's most beautiful and diverse cities; with three days here we include a full day Cape Peninsula tour where you can see one of the world's most beautiful sights, a chance to really stretch our legs and climb Table Mountain (weather permitting), and a trip to the famous winelands.

The African guides were excellent
Cannot praise too highly the two guides from Jenman Safaris - knowledge, driving stamina, patience with us, organization...
