Packing & baggage restrictions on flights

In a worldwide attempt to improve security at airports and on board flights, restrictions are in place concerning what can be taken on to aircraft. Ramblers Worldwide Holidays is a British Airways Preferred Partner and many of our holidays use BA flights. To see BA’s advice on what you can and cannot take as luggage and, in particular, what liquids can be taken in hand luggage please click here.

Airport security arrangements

Never carry items on behalf of other people or leave bags unattended. Please note that a false declaration could result in a refusal to carry you or your baggage. You should be aware that you will be asked a series of questions when checking in for your flight regarding the contents of your bag. All hold baggage will be subjected to x-ray screening and in some instances, searched by a qualified security agent in the presence of the owner.

Many airports now select passengers for whole body scanning or manual pat-down by security officials.  A refusal to be screened will result in passengers not being permitted to travel. You may also be subject to fingerprint and other biometric checks.
