In & Around Dubrovnik

Local Transport

Used buses during the holiday. Cost if pre-buying ticket 8 Kunas and the cost on the Bus is 10 Kunas. Service is regular to and from Dubrovnik and runs well into the evening.
These can get packed!

Costs

Provided Trips / Excursions – 310 Kunas (based on 20 travellers).
The walls of Dubrovnik – 70 Kunas
Boat to Lokrum – 40 Kunas
All other museums between – 30 and 50 Kunas

Meals

There was only one day where a picnic was necessary (easily done from the local bakers / supermarket). Otherwise on all of the walks there was the option of a picnic, snack from somewhere local, or a meal at a restaurant

Local Currency

The Kuna is the local currency but many places also take the Euro.

Must See/Do

Walk the walls of Dubrovnik. Simply 100s of photo opportunities.
The trip of the three islands. Stunning views, very relaxed and the most unique church on the island of Sipan that you will ever see.
The trip to Lokrum. Following the walk you can do things completely at your own pace.

If you Fancy a Challenge

Try walking the wall at Ston. This is not part of the holiday (above a grade D walk) but it now can be walked in its’ entirety.

Overall

• Beer and wine are readily available in local bars and supermarkets.
• The majority of the days do not require picnics so the mini bar is not really an issue.
• Take extra plugs or a universal adaptor for a shaver point.
Taking a travel kettle or element heater with a mug, tea or coffee and whitener along with an adaptor means that making a cup of tea or coffee is easy.
Any holiday is made up by the people, the weather, the guide and the place. On a Ramblers Worldwide Holidays’ trip, the people are really guaranteed. Over the whole week we had some rain, but when the sun was out it was superb (look at the pictures). The guide was knowledgeable and friendly. The place was picturesque, welcoming and packed with history.

Verdict
Recommended.
