A USA Walking Holiday in New York
An exhilarating fun week in 'The Big Apple'
OverviewHere’s an exhilarating visit to probably the most energy-charged city in the world. New York makes a wonderful venue for a week’s sightseeing. From glossy Times Square and 42nd Street to glamorous Fifth Avenue, midtown Manhattan is New York at its showy best. Throw in Downtown, Central Park, The Statue of Liberty, the art deco Empire State Building and Rockefeller Center, spectacular bridges, museums, theatres and concerts, ethnic neighbourhoods, fabulous shopping and some great ’deli lunches’ and all this adds up to an action-packed and exciting week!
This is a city to explore on foot; we cover all the ’must-see’ attractions, including the quirky and the unusual such as a visit to the Smithsonian Museum of The Native American - often overlooked by visitors. We’ll also ride the subway, take a bus and sail on the Staten Island Ferry.
We include a rail trip up the Hudson River Valley to explore the beautiful countryside north of New York City with its historic sites and pretty colonial villages such as Cold Spring and Irvington-on-Hudson.
New York - it’s brash, colourful and unlike any other city in the world. It’s just great!
