We’re really proud to have received approval of our Flora and Walking holidays from the Royal Horticultural Society! Designed so you can appreciate the flowers in their natural environment, these holidays, which now also form part of the RHS’ own ‘Travel Collection’, are planned especially for flower lovers with a tailored itinerary to ensure you see the best displays of natural beauty in the local area.
A combined passion
The combined goal of Ramblers Worldwide Holidays and the Royal Horticultural Society is to give people who share a passion for plants and a love of walking a holiday that will be both inspiring and enriching. Led by knowledgeable leaders, some of whom are botanists and some of whom are very keen gardeners with a passion for flowers and plants around the world, these holidays follow an unhurried pace and span a range of walking grades from easier to intermediate. As you can imagine there is a great social aspect to these holidays with a huge amount of knowledge, experience and advice shared by the group as a whole.
The best of places, the best of times
We’ve selected the world’s best walking areas where you can discover and delight in an array of plantlife. Spring and early summer are the ideal times to enjoy blooming landscapes. Springtime on Magnificent Minorca gives you the opportunity to discover some of the first wild orchids, purple sage or even a prickly pear! Whilst on the Gargano Peninsula on the spur of Italy our beautiful walking trails are abundant in flowers - 1800 species have been recorded including over 60 species of orchid. For those who fancy travelling further afield, why not try South Africa on our Flowers of Cape Province tour to see protea, rooibos and sparaxis.
