Imagine combining the freedom of a walking and sightseeing holiday, with the leisurely pleasures of cruising aboard a Fred. Olsen cruise liner - and that's the unique essence of our new cruise and walk holidays. Fabulously popular in our 2007 programme, we've expanded our cruise and walking holidays for 2008 and 2009, so now there are even more holiday itineraries for you to choose from. And remember, on a cruising and walking holiday, every day offers the opportunity to explore a completely new place!
For 2008/9, our Cruise and Walk holiday programme continues to expand with exciting new cruise and walk itineraries such as 'Sailing to Byzantium', including ports of call in Italy, Turkey, Romania, Ukraine and Greece; 'The Slow Ship to Brittany' plus our spectacular Baltic cruise 'Baltic Discovery'. Enjoy luxury cruising with wonderful walking opportunities around the Mediterranean, Aegean and Black Sea on 'Jewels of the Mediterranean'. How about trying our Norwegian cruise 'Fjords of Norway'. Last, but by no means least, don't forget Britain’s beautiful maritime ports which we explore on 'Roaming around Britain' and 'Kingdoms by the Sea'.
What can I expect on a cruising and walking holiday?
Cruising and walking means a new place to walk and see every day, while travelling in complete comfort. Fred. Olsen cruise ships provide our floating hotels, which means there’s no flying, no packing and unpacking. Just come on board and take it easy.
You’ll enjoy fine dining as well as the excellent amenities on board; live entertainment and talks for those that would like it and the tranquility of the library for those who prefer a little peace and quiet. All meals and a midnight supper are included so don’t forget your formal wear as you will be encouraged to ‘dress for dinner’. There’s even an exclusive cocktail party one evening.
At each new port of call, your Ramblers Worldwide Holidays Leader will have arranged an itinerary that includes easier grade walking, to make the most of your new location. A degree of flexibility is required; weather, for example, may mean arrival/departure times at ports may vary. No need to worry - our Ramblers leader is adept at re-arranging plans if need be.
If easy walking with a maritime accent appeals to you, then we've probably got a cruise for you - join us Walking on Water.
