Ash over Ireland – air traffic control strikes in Greece – would we ever get away for our week in Crete? We did, and wished things had got worse on these fronts on our return date for an enforced prolonged stay!
Phil and Sue Pont embarked on the Secrets of Southern Evia walking holiday in the midst of the ongoing BA strikes, but managed to arrive with a minimum of disruption. They went on to enjoy a wonderful time on this beautiful island off the coast of mainland Greece.
This was to be our 11th Ramblers Worldwide Holidays trip and we were eager to sample 5 of the Dodecanese Islands (12 Large and many of a smaller size). We had already rambled on Patmos and the nearby Samos islands, so we had some inkling of what to expect.
