Walking in the Trentino Highlands 1690 |
One or two weeks enjoying superb mountain walking | Between the high peaks of the Alps to the north and the Po Valley to the south lies some of the most enticing walking to be had on the Italian peninsula.
Relatively unknown outside Italy, the alpine foothills of the Altopiano Trentino offer everything you could wish from a walking holiday at this grade.
We stay in the charming village of San Sebastiano and the highly-rated Hotel al Sole. Walks to peaks, through meadows and valleys and along ridges give wonderful variety whether you are staying for one week or two. Many days start and finish at the hotel.
In July and August it is possible to visit the opera in Verona's Roman amphitheatre, just over an hour away, while free day options include Lake Garda or a visit to the Ice Man museum in Bolzano.
Please note: The first week of the season is for flower lovers and combines easy walking searching out the region's beautiful flowers with some sightseeing. Those booking 27 Jun for two weeks have one week at grade D+/flowers, and one week at grade D+/C.
