"Due to the transfers and journeys to and from the daily walks The Highlights of the Via Algarviana was an excellent mix of 'tour' and walking. This gave the group excellent opportunity to see the changing nature of the countryside each day. Starting at the Spanish border on our first day, to the extreme westerly point on our final day of walking. All journeys were inclusive in the cost of the holiday and complimentary white & red 'house wine' at all restaurants. Our leader Mike was 'wonderful' not only in his leadership skills of guided walks, but also local knowledge and language skills. His caring nature and people skills are the best that I have experienced over the past 12 years of travelling with your company. This holiday, more than any, was totally relaxing and exhilarating leaving me with a lasting impression of the Algarve and keen desire to walk in other regions of Portugal."

NEW Ale & Amble in the Lake District Holiday !!
For those who enjoy a leisurely walk amidst spectacular scenery with the promise of a decent pint en route, we have the perfect answer.
We have just launched a one week ‘Ale & Amble’ holiday with Hassness Country House on the banks of Lake Buttermere as the base for this ‘heady’ excursion ! Within easy walking distance are two great inns – the Bridge and The Fish.
This holiday could not be better located than in the glorious Lake District with its famous, historic and characterful inns where one can savour a choice of real ales provided by the local Jennings, Coniston, Keswick and Hesket Newmarket breweries .
Apart from drinking in these superb brews and landscape one can walk in the footsteps of the doyen of walking, Alfred Wainwright whose memorial is in the small village of Buttermere.
Price for this one week Ale & Amble Holiday (28 September 2013) £469 per person includes accommodation at Hassness Country House, cooked breakfast, picnic lunches on walking days, freshly baked cakes in the afternoon and three course dinner every day except Tuesday when there is a buffet breakfast and dinner can be taken in one of Buttermere’s village pubs. Transport as necessary is included during the week so no driving (or sitting on slow buses!).
